Quite simply, Adam and his crew are the best in the business. And I don’t mean “pretty good for a bunch of guys with chainsaws.” I mean proper professionals. The sort of people who arrive with the right equipment, a highly trained crew, an actual plan, and the calm confidence of people who know exactly what they’re doing.

This was not some easy little backyard trim job. These were large, complex, high-risk removals around an active commercial property with tenants constantly coming and going. Most of the other “companies” that looked at it seemed to operate on the traditional method of scratching their heads for ten minutes before lobbing a random number at me.

Adam was different immediately. Thoughtful, methodical, safety-focused, and organized. Watching the crew work was like watching a Formula 1 pit team with chainsaws. Efficient, coordinated, and completely in control from start to finish.

We’ve had our tree work done by Whitney’s for several years now. Our first time around, we got a few bids. Adam gave us the same price as others but said he could accomplish the work in 1 – 1-½ days. Competitors were quoting up to a week for the job.

On the day our most recent work was done, the crew (4 guys total) arrived on time and ready to go. Adam introduced his crew and we did a full walk-around together to go over exactly what we wanted done. During the review, Adam offered some really helpful suggestions, examined a couple questionable trees and offered his professional recommendations, and made sure we were all on the same page.

They are fascinating to watch. They have top of the line equipment for every aspect of the job. The crew is in communication at all times and they work as a team. Safety is paramount; everyone is aware of each other’s whereabouts and makes sure an area is clear when trees and branches start to come down. There is not a wasted moment – things run with incredible efficiency. We watched from indoors and if Adam wanted clarification, he communicated via text as much as possible which kept us out of the way and the crew uninterrupted.

We learned from the crew that part of their scheduled hours entail shop work, where they inspect and maintain all their equipment on a regular schedule. It appears that while each man assumes a particular role for a job, all are fully versed in all work and all machines. The entire crew takes obvious pride in their work and work exceptionally well together. Adam is clearly the head of the operation and handles most of the communication, but he also empowers his crew to interface directly with the customer when a bit of clarification is required.

They’ve done a variety of things for us – taken down huge trees that are starting to weaken with age, removed large trees and trimmed branches of others that are too near the house or outbuildings, removed “weed trees” to give more room to some nice maples, etc. In one case they took down a large maple that threatened to fall on our septic system, by taking it down section by section and “ziplining” each huge piece over the lawn and off into the woods. Every time they have done work for us, our property is left neat as a pin.

We always recommend Whitney’s to anyone needing tree work done. They are very professional, knowledgeable, skilled, efficient and simply a pleasure to work with. Truly a model business that is rooted in best practices with respect to employees, equipment, customers, and customers’ property. One of the best-run companies we’ve had the pleasure to work with and they’ve earned our highest recommendation.

We had a difficult job which required heavy equipment and large cranes. This subsequently required a temporary road closure and coordination with our neighbors and Sugarbush mountain. The work was absolutely amazing- it was as if the trees- and Adam’s team- had never been there (I still can’t figure out how they left NO sawdust…). What was as impressive was their communication and efforts to minimize the inconvenience to our surrounding neighbors. I HIGHLY recommend them, and will be using their services in the future. Extremely professional, courteous and exceptional work at a reasonable price- can’t ask for anything more than that!

You guys did such an excellent job removing that tall pine. Other than sawdust, you left no evidence of the removal of this enormous tree. All of the gardens below weren’t touched and the grounds were neat, clean, and professionally left uninterrupted. Whitney Tree Service is the most professional arborist out there. I recommend you to everyone and anyone looking for tree work.
