The Town of Waitsfield hired us to remove several declining sugar maple trees around the Joslin Memorial Library. These were large mature trees in a busy public space so the job required careful planning to protect pedestrians, the library grounds, memorial, sidewalk and surrounding property. Our crew used a combination of bucket truck and crane to carefully dismantle the trees while keeping the work area controlled and minimizing impact to the site. It’s always a little bittersweet to remove old sugar maples like these, especially in such a prominent spot in town, but their health had been declining and it was time for them to come down. After the removals were complete, we ground the stumps, cleaned up the work areas and left the grounds ready for whatever comes next.
